CFC Updates: 5/31/17

I hope this finds you well. I'm hoping to be more regular in sending out update emails on things going on, as well as various resources that might help in your attempt to be and make disciples. Sometimes I'll just be passing along some good info for your family. You just simply never know!

Summer is here! We often think of summertime as the time where we get to shut down a little bit and relax. Go on vacation. Stuff like that. But summer in the life of the church is full of great opportunity. We hope that while you do get to enjoy vacations and some down time, don't let that affect your commitment to gathering together with the saints. Since so many are gone from week to week, it really is an encouragement and blessing to the other people when you choose to attend. Plus, you know, the added benefit of worshiping our God! So, look forward to seeing you there. Here are some upcoming things to remember.

Our Bible Reading Groups are the way to get connected to a small group. We are going to work on building up the current ones we have with the hopes to expand with more groups in the future. Get connected! Here are a list of the groups and leaders. Try to make contact with a leader so you'll know whether or not the group is meeting a certain week, etc. You can contact them through the church app ( )

VBS is this month! We will be making volunteer assignments soon, and will have a final volunteers meeting on Sunday, June 11, at 5:00 pm. There are plenty of opportunities to serve. If you are interested in volunteering, and have not already done so, please contact Christi Beerley, 940.207.0916 or We are trying to put together a float for the community parade on June 24, as an extra promo for the event. If you have contacts for a flatbed trailer, please reply to this email and let us know.

This offer came through from our friends over at the Frisco RoughRiders!

Finally, youth camp is coming up next month. Our students are really excited. Right now we have 10 signed up to go and hopefully can add more if needed. The cost is $325, which is pretty steep. We think it would be great to help our youth raise funds for camp by asking them to assist with odd jobs or house work that you could use some help with. Maybe it's a babysitting job, mowing a lawn, cleaning out garages, etc. Instead of paying them directly, you'll give the money to the church to go toward their camp balance. Not only do we hope this helps them get to camp, but will also give you an opportunity to get to know some of them and build relationships. That is so important in our congregation! If you have some work, contact Josh Cannon at 817.939.7823 or

God bless you all! If you haven't filled out our survey about a possible new podcast, take 15 seconds and fill it out on the app. And if you haven't yet, download the app!

To the praise of his glorious grace,
